Prayer Path of Nishiyama Park

Pass 420 stone statues on the way to an eased mind

When I visited Nishiyama Park in Sabae city, Fukui, to enjoy the gorgeous autumn leaves there in late November, I found a walking path called the 'Prayer Path' on my way to the observation deck on the hilltop. Many stone statues line the pathway. Some are Buddhist statues, and others are statues of children. Since I'd never heard of it before, I researched it later, and found out that it was built in 1988 for the general public of Fukui, to provide a place to ease their minds. According to Sabae city office, it has no connection with any religion. Thus, there are many statues of children! Anyway, walking along this path really eased my mind!
