The Japan Traditional Art & Crafts Exhibition was established in 1954 with the goal of nurturing and preserving the country's world-class craft techniques. The Hiroshima event will showcase an impressive 280 works from various artistic categories including ceramics, textiles, lacquer art, metalwork, wood and bamboo work, and traditional dolls.
The works on display will include pieces from Living National Treasures (people who have been certified by the Japanese government as Preservers of Important Intangible Cultural Properties) plus up-and-coming young artists.
Adult admission to the event is priced at ¥ 700.
