Losers in Ukiyo-e 2021

A special exhibition at the Ota Memorial Museum

Nơi đến: Ota Memorial Museum of Art Khi: Apr 15th - May 16th 2021

In any battle or challenge, winners and losers are born. Even though winners may walk away with the glory of victory, our hearts often side with the underdogs. A special exhibition taking place at the Ota Museum of Art will examine this phenomenon, with ukiyo-e works on display that depict losers throughout history. Along with losers that people feel compassion for, there will also be art that depicts those who are seen as deserving of their losses, such as kabuki villains.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 800 yen.

The Ota Memorial Museum of Art is located approximately six minutes on foot from the JR Harajuku Station, served by the Yamanote Line, or two minutes on foot from the Tokyo Metro Meiji-jingumae Station, served by the Chiyoda Line and the Fukutoshin Line.

Do note that there is no dedicated parking lot for the museum, and private parking can be expensive in the area - so public transportation is advised.
